How to unlock Amazon Prime Instant Video from outside the US

The same as for Hulu and Netflix, Prime Instant Video is not available for users outside the US. You can create an account, but when you try to play a video you get the following message:

Unlock Amazon Prime Block

We have detected that you are not located withing the US. Due to licensing restrictions Amazon Instant Video customers must be located in the United States when viewing videos online.

Amazon’s Prime Instant Video can be easily unlocked with the use of a VPN service that provides USA IP addresses. Here is a list of such services: List of VPN Services that Provide USA IP Addresses. I have successfully watched the Prime videos with HideMyAss, ibVPN, NordVPN, PrivateInternetAccess and PureVPN.

After you set up the VPN connection, just press the Retry button and you are good to go. No need to delete the cookies or to perform other fancy operations.
