1. If the connection times out in the final phase, the connection drops back to your standard IP but gives the appearance of a success, with icon turning from yellow to green. The user is fully exposed, while thinking he is protected by the VPN

2. If the VPN drops the connection, the connection drops back to the default gateway (the normal connection) and once again the user is fully exposed.
A proxy is safer here, because if the connection breaks the software stalls. uTorrent will continue file sharing with a VPN but not a Proxy.

3. There are workarounds for these problems, but they should be included with the package. This means that for normal users unfamiliar with networking a VPN such as the one here should be avoided as while there is full security when the system works, there is absolute risk when it does not. Basically the software lacks proper error control, found often on Unix products and their ports where such things are considered minor and left to the end user.

4. That said, this is highly recommended for those who are familiar with networking, OpenVPN and basic script writing. It is not recommended for the average windows user who may have never seen a command line.
